McTear’s Largest Whiskey Sale to Auction Rare £14,000 Macallan

On Wednesday, May 5th in Glasgow, Scotland, McTear’s will hold their largest whiskey auction of the year, with more than 700 lots of rare and exclusive, collectible whiskeys. Highlighting this special event, McTear’s will offer the exceptional 50-year-old Macallan single malt.

Aside from the 50-year-old bottle, Macallan will also enter the complete six bottles of the Exceptional Single Cask Range (Est. £1,500 to £2,500) and the 1946 Distilled 52-year-old (Est. £2,400 to £2,800).

Also in appearance, McTear’s auction block will feature such Macallan notables as the 40-year-old (Est.  £3000 to £4000), and a second bottle of the highly rare 50-year-old (Est. £10,000 to £14,000).

Elsewhere, throughout the auction, standouts will include a number of Highland Park bottles, such as the Highland Park Millennium bottle – of which only 2000 bottles of this 12-year-old Cask Strength were released.

Rounding out the highlights of McTear’s auction, Islay Single Malt Whiskies will display the Ardbeg Guaranteed 30-year-old (Est. £300 to £340), a Caol Ila 12-year-old (Est. £160 to £200), as well as, the rich Laphroaig 1981 27-year-old selected from five Oloroso Sherry Casks (Est. £400 to £440)

Scheduled to open the doors at 10:20am, individuals will have the opportunity to experience “the world’s premiere whiskey auction.”
