Christie’s Upcoming Wine Sale Offers 1990 Romanée Conti
Between the holidays and Valentine’s Day, your wine cellar could be looking a bit thin these days. Next weekend provides an ample opportunity to restock. For their first Fine and Rare Wine sale of the year, Christie’s is offering up some of the best seldom seen Champagne, Bordeaux, and Burgundies from the last fifty years.
Taking place February 27 at 10am, in their saleroom at Manhattan’s Rockafeller Center, this global sale will feature over 660 lots.
A few of the notables in the sale are: 1996 Bollinger Vielles Vignes Françaises Blanc de Noirs (case) for $7,500-$10,000, 1982 Chateau Lafite-Rothschild (dozen) for $26,000-$35,000, 1990 La Tâche, Côte de Nuits, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (dozen) for $30,000-$50,000, and 1990 Romanée-Conti (four bottles) for $40,000-$60,000.
As with every wine auction since 2007, collectors can bid from anywhere in the world via Christie’s live online bidding platform. You can also bid by phone, absentee bid, or in person at the saleroom.
A brunch buffet and wine tasting will be held throughout the day, featuring wines such as: 1952 Clos Vougeot, 1961 Chateau Calon Segur, 1989 Puligny Montrachet, 1989 Grands Echézeaux, and 1990 Mazis Chambertin.
